Near the little and old port of San Miguel de Tajao in south Tenerife, you could find the restaurant Playa Tajao. Here, there is always the fresh fish caught in the deep sea of the archipelago, there is the paella (on booking) and classic course of the canary food like gofio escaldado (cereals toasted flour) and cazuelas. At restaurant Playa Tajao, the say that the food ’jumps from the sea to the table’: the freshness is the main ingredient of our food. You could taste the tastiest fresh fish: cod, mussels, prawns, gilthead, and griddled, fried or stewed fish. Every fish course has success, but in particular the guests love Roman squids. It’s interesting the tapas offer: anchovies or vinegar polyp, fresh cheese, green fried peppers and the delicious home made croquettes. The home made cakes are very good, the chocolate cake or coffee or pineapple cake with sponge cake. The restaurant’s cellar offers good wines of the area (Bodega de S. Miguel) in particular wines from Spain.
